GM Custom Tuning

We can tune your GM/Chevrolet vehicle by providing a new pcm (powertrain control module - the onboard computer) that has a performance tune programmed into it already. All you do is tell me what you want to get out of the tuning (as much horsepower as possible, better mileage, towing power,etc) and I send the order in to Westers Garage. They program a performance tune into a pcm meant for your vehicle and they send it to me. There is no downtime for your vehicle because you don't need to send in the computer in your vehicle to get tuned. The only exception for this is 2006-2007 vehicles because the computers for these vehicles are still hard to find. Once the new pcm arrives I install it for you in your vehicle and you give me your old computer back as a core. If you would like to keep your old computer there is a $100.00 core charge.

Chevrolet/GMC pcm's are more user friendly to program than Fords and we can give you a "dual octane" tune. What this means is that we can tune your vehicle to run on 87 octane gas or 91 octane fuel. Or we can make it so it could run on 89 or 91, or 91 and 93 octane, whatever you want. GM pcm's can recognize which type of fuel your are using and adjust the timing tables accordingly to give you the extra power when you use the higher octane fuel.

Some of the more common modifications to ask for:

  • Raising the top speed limiter to any speed you specify
  • Specifying the exact shift points you want in every gear
  • Firmer (or softer) shift specific tuning for your modifications, like larger than stock tires, gear ratio change, aftermarket MAF sensor, supercharger, headers, cam change, engine modifications, etc.
